# How big should buttons be in a Shopify theme? | Theme Stack Guide

At least 24 by 24 CSS pixels, or spaced so they do not crowd each other. WCAG 2.2 made this a Level AA rule. Swatches and quantity buttons fail it most often.

## The rule

Success Criterion 2.5.8, Target Size (Minimum), asks for targets of at least 24 by 24 CSS pixels. Smaller targets pass only if there is enough space around them.

## Where themes miss it

Color swatches, plus and minus quantity buttons, and close icons on drawers are often tiny. Check them on a phone. Bigger targets also cut mis-taps that send shoppers to the wrong variant.

## Frequently asked questions

### Where should a delivery estimate appear?

High on the product page, near the price and buy button, where it can influence the decision. An estimate buried in a shipping page only gets found after checkout anxiety has already cost you the sale.

### How specific should a delivery estimate be?

A date range based on the shopper location is far more convincing than a vague business days claim. Ranges set honest expectations and reduce where is my order contacts compared to optimistic single dates.
